- An ancient manuscript says the biggest illusion in the world is that the human race is made up of separate races, individuals, and nations. The truth is that we are one body. This truth does not preclude differences of opinion and divergent beliefs. Just as our body is made up of many organs, humanity is a single organism made up of many individuals. We need to realize that those people who differ from us in belief, opinion, or desire are just as integral to our personal welfare as a kidney and a heart are to the “welfare” of a body. We are not supposed to surrender our individuality; we are supposed to honor and celebrate it—along with everyone else’s. A heart does not need to be a kidney.
